Husk — Nullscape Enemy Guide
The Husk is the most common enemy in Nullscape. Learn its behavior, spawn conditions, and the best strategies to deal with Husk swarms effectively.
Husk

The Husk is the most basic and frequently encountered enemy in Nullscape. While a single Husk poses almost no threat, their tendency to spawn in large groups can quickly overwhelm unprepared players, especially in later biome transitions during a Doom in Bloom run.
Behavior Pattern
Husks are slow, shambling enemies that pursue the player in a straight line with no pathfinding intelligence. They won't jump gaps or climb walls, making them easy to outmaneuver on vertical terrain. However, they have a surprising amount of persistence — once aggroed, a Husk will follow the player across multiple rooms and platforms until destroyed or until the player reaches a safe zone checkpoint.
Husks deal low contact damage and have minimal health, going down in 1–2 hits from any starting weapon. Their real danger emerges from their numbers: later biomes can spawn 10–15 Husks simultaneously, turning simple corridors into gauntlets.
Spawn Conditions
Husks spawn universally across all biomes but are most dense in the Withered Expanse and Bloom Corridors introduced in Patch 5. They appear during standard room clears, ambush events, and as add-on spawns during boss phases. Extreme mode increases Husk density by roughly 40%.
Counters
- Keep your distance. Husks cannot close gaps quickly, so ranged weapons and abilities are ideal.
- Use vertical terrain. Ledges, walls, and elevated platforms force Husks to cluster below you.
- Speed upgrades like Adrenaline or Double Jump trivialize Husk encounters entirely.
- Area-of-effect items shine against groups — a single well-placed explosion can clear a dozen Husks at once.
Tips
Don't underestimate Husks in co-op. In multiplayer, Husks split their attention between players, which can actually make them more chaotic since they spread across the arena. If you're playing support, prioritize crowd-clearing for your team. On Extreme difficulty, always clear Husks before looting — a surprise Husk cloud during a pickup animation has ended many runs.
